Obituary
Art, 84, of Brookwood, Alabama, died March 27, 2006. He was killed while cutting trees on his property and was found pinned under a large tree. Art was a WWII veteran and fought on Okinawa and had been awarded two purple hearts. He jumped at Missoula in 1950 while a student at the University of Minnesota on the G.I. Bill and graduated with a degree in Forestry and Wildlife. After graduating, he went to work for the National Park Service at Big Bend NP in Texas. His career to him to California, North Dakota and Washington D.C. He retired in 1988 and moved to his wife's family land in Brookwood.
