LeRoy died September 6, 2008, at his home in Colville, Washington. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1957 and started jumping at NCSB that summer and continued the next two seasons. In 1960 he jumped out of Anchorage and then went into the army that fall. He came back in 1962 and jumped his final season at Anchorage. LeRoy was an avid horse lover. After retiring from the Bureau of Reclamation at Grand Coulee Dam 2000, he spent much of his time training horses and building horse tack in his leather shop.
