Abstract

In Kingston's letter to his mother, he describes his activities in Thisancourt, France. He describes how the American soldiers celebrated the holidays in a much louder manner than the French, his transfer from Martigny-les-Bains to Thisancourt, the training of new troops involving machine gun fire, the kind elderly woman providing him room and board, his meals with the solders, and his desire to return to Cheney, Washington in time for summer school. This letter was sent from Thisancourt France.
