Description

Richard Frank Knox was born February 4, 1920 in Rosebud County, Montana to Edgar and Nellie Knox. After graduating from Rosebud High School in 1937, Knox worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps before moving to Ellensburg, Washington 1938 to attend Central Washington College of Education. Knox enlisted in the Army after the United States entry into World War II and worked as a communications officer for the Army Air Corps serving mostly at Horham Air Base in England. After the War, Frank continued to serve as a reservist earning the rank of lieutenant colonel. Knox met his wife, Helen Edith Price, in Santa Ana before moving to Pullman, Washington to attend Washington State College to earn a degree in electrical engineering. After working for the Clark County Public Utility District, Knox worked as a professor of Electrical Engineering at Washington State University. Knox retired in 1988 and moved to Newman Lake, Washington before moving to Oregon in the 2000s. Knox died July 13, 2017 in Milwaukie, Oregon.
