Description
Phil Klein was born May 27, 1925 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Joe and Mary Klein. After graduating from high school in 1943, Klein served in the United States Army in the Battle of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Battle of Germany. Klein enrolled at the University of Wisconsin and Michigan State University, graduating with a degree in forestry. He went on to work at the Potlach Corporation in Lewiston, Idaho. In Lewiston, he met his wife Edwardine Flerchinger. For Potlatch, Klein worked in forests in northern Idaho, retiring in 1988. Klein died December 24, 2015, identified as a former resident of St. Maries, Idaho.
