Description
Donald H. Head was born September 14, 1923 in Dubuque, Iowa to Donald and Trella. Head enlisted in the United States Army in 1942. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was prisoner of war from December 1944 to March 1945. He married Patricia Higgins in 1946 earning his B.A. from the University of Dubuque in 1947 and his M.A. from the University of Iowa in 1947, both in Physical Education. Head worked for the YMCA in St. Louis, Missouri before entering the FBI in 1951. He served in San Francisco, California, then settled in Spokane in 1954. After his retirement in 1975, he worked as a Security Inspetcor for the Playfair Race Cource and a Security Officer for Fidelity Multual Savings Bank. Head died at the Spokane Veterans Home November 27, 2011.
