Description
Mary Clarizio was born Mary Ferrante in Sannicandro Bari, Italy on September 2, 1929. Her family emigrated to the United States when Mary was child, settling in Spokane, Washington. Mary moved back to Italy after World War II, where she married Gino Clarizio, an Italian veteran of World War II, who was captured in North Africa, sent to a prisoner of war camp in the United States, before moving back to Bari. The couple returned to the United States and settled in Spokane, where Mary worked in a pasta factory and raised three sons. Mary died in 2017 at the age of 88.
