Albert Davies standing in front of a Stinson Reliant owned by the United States Forest Service. Davies is wearing a sweater, tie, and riding pants. The photograph is taken from a distance to capture the entire wingspan of the airplane. This photograph was taken during the smokejumping experiments near Winthrop, Washington in 1939.
