Amongst the many news items in this issue are a listing of prices from the Portland Market, a short note about a gambling raid in Spokane, a column by Women's Christian Temperance Union Leader Lucy A. Switzer on the evils of gambling, news from the Farmer's Alliance, a letter to the editor complaining about votes by African Americans for African American candidates, a railroad lawsuit against the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern railroad, and a Cheney fire that burned a two-story building at Main and E, as well as other buildings in six blocks.
