Tim died June 27, 2009, at the UC San Diego Medical Center of complications from liver disease. He was a four-sport letterman at Thompson Falls (Montana) High School and rookied in 1982. Tim jumped until 1989 and then managed the Smokejumper Visitor Center at Missoula. He worked with the media on many occasions. Tim was the adviser on the movie "Firestorm" and Nicholas Evan's book "The Smokejumper." He leaves behind fiance and author Gayle Morrison.
