Abstract
This drypoint print uses an etched 8 X 12 inch acrylic plate to print onto paper through the EWU print studio's hand powered printing press. These prints demonstrate selective ink wiping techniques to achieve different levels of value contrasts and saturation. The subject, a Giant Pacific Octopus, serves as a great example of formal artistic elements - contrast, texture, asymmetry, pattern, and space. However, per the view of the artist, this fascinating creature represents a unique spirit of individuality, intelligence, and confidence.
