Abstract
This work showcases childhood trauma and its effects on adulthood. This piece shows a silhouette of a child sitting while a hand from the darkness reaches out to them on the left side. On the right side it shows a silhouette of an adult as they walk, reaching into the darkness, while the child and the adult are chained together. This art piece shows that the trauma that we go through in childhood, from the adults around us, can be carried into our adulthood, and we can then pass that down into the next generation, leading to a never ending cycle.
