Abstract

This project focuses on miasma and katharsis as defined in the ancient Greek world. While most conceptions of miasma and katharsis are related to theatre or are analyzed in various literary works, this project focuses on the fundamental aspect of how miasma and katharsis were viewed in the ancient Greek world and significance that they held in the ancient Greek understanding of the world around them. Additionally, this project focuses on how applying these ideas in the context of modern-day problems can help shed light on what needs to be done to address those problems effectively.
