Obituary
Geno died October 16, 2024, after a long-fought battle with ALS. He was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, where he spent his youth. Geno graduated from Rice Lake HS in 1974 and obtained a job with the U.S. Forest Service. He spent the first few years as a Hotshot before obtaining a position with the Missoula Smokejumpers from 1980-1994. During that time Geno obtained a degree in Cartography from the University of Missoula and eventually retired as a Cartographer for the Lolo National Forest in 2006. Geno met his wife Pam Brown in 2001 and eventually married in 2008. Geno and Pam bounced around for several years moving to SD, UT, MN, and eventually settled back in Missoula. During this time Geno pursed his hobbies as a woodworker, ultra trail runner, hunter, lover of nature, camper and hiker, and enjoyed surrounded himself with friends and family.
