Dale, 50, died September 23, 2001, in Hawaii and was living in Sonora, California, at the time. He was born May 15, 1951, in Hartford, Wisconsin. Dale was a radio technician for the Forest Service at the time of his death. He jumped at Anchorage during the 1972 season and was part of the USFS "Retread Program" at Redding where he jumped the 1973-74 seasons.
