Description
A Ford Tri-Motor airplane is parked next to the Big Prairie ranger station in the Flathead National Forest in Montana.
The photograph was taken for the Untied States Forest Service. The print scanned here is from the Phil Stanley Collection. There is also a physical print that may be found in the Untied States Forest Service Region 1 Archives Collection, Mss 889 at the University of Montana Mansfield Library. The date used here is the one provided by in A Pictorial History of Smokejumping and differs from the date provided by the digital record from the University of Montana.
