A formation of six aircraft fly low over a wheat field. The airplane in the center front is a Ford Trimotor, which was a plane frequently used by smokejumpers in the mid-20th century. Four of the planes are biplanes, likely Boeing Stearmans. A note on the back of the photograph reads "61 Grangeville "Stearmans?" used to drop borate".
