Artist Statement
I believe every artwork is a reflection of an artist's life. They create visual poetry, and in some cases, they can create single images that would take books multiple pages. Every artist has a backstory; bits and pieces can sometimes be revealed through a body of work, from the life experiences that led to their choices of mediums and materials to their artwork revealing their views and perspectives on life.
My work here shows bits and pieces of me, a reflection of my life, revealed through illustrations by pairing simple objects together to create icons specific to ideas or problems that I or others may experience. Essential communicating experiences that others can pause, reflect, and discover their own meanings within the images.
