Abstract
This piece is a demonstration of a program written in Max/MSP, a graphical object-oriented programming language for processing audio. Originally created for live and recorded vocal input, the program has been expanded for input from different instruments. The core concept is based around the harmonic series: when any musical pitch (the fundamental) is produced a number of other, quieter pitches (harmonics) are also produced but not heard. This program utilizes digital filters to amplify these harmonics so they can be heard over the fundamental.
