Abstract
Intergenerational interactions have been studied in regards to benefits to youth involved, however, there is not as much research regarding the impacts on older adults that participate in such programs (Reisig & Fees, 2006). Older adults typically face isolation and challenges coming to terms with aging that programs involving intergenerational interactions could increase perspectives about the perception of life, aging, and well-being (Reisig & Fees, 2006). This project will discuss research findings on the benefits of intergenerational programs and interactions on older adults' and youth's well-being and skill building. Discussion surrounding strengthening older adult and youth interactions will be explored. Furthermore, information will be presented from literature reviews and presentations from the On Aging Conference in Orlando, Florida.
