Abstract
Of Withering and Chlorosis is a watercolor painting that focuses on the juxtaposition of assertion and suppression. The crawling vines are highlighting the epitome of perfection that we as a society tend to set on others, and this is all while the figure is obscured by said vines as they block their ears, eyes, and mouth from speaking.
Kitty and Cat are both dry point prints that were made onto pressed pennies. Despite how pennies are the least valued currency in the United States, this made them an ideal medium and their own challenge due to how small they were to work on. The subject matter of cats was chosen as a parallel to the technique of dry point and of cats lives, which are both fleeting in nature .
