Lyle, 74, died April 24, 2005, in Decatur, Alabama. He was born September 18, 1930, in Monroe, Michigan. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Michigan. Lyle was an industrial forester with several paper companies and was later self-employed as a forest consultant. He served in the Marine Corps as a 1st Lt. Lyle jumped at Missoula during the 1951 season.
