Mike died January 22, 2017, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. He was born July 25, 1939, in Alameda, California. Mike had a long career with the Forest Service retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service. He then went to work as the Director of Prescribed Burning for Wildlands Service out of Quincy, California. Mike rookied at Redding in 1965 and was part of the "Retred" program during the 196-67, 70 and 73 seasons.
