Obituary
Glen died August 14, 2023. He was born April 23, 1947, in Glenwood, MN, and grew up on a farm near Starbuck, MN, where he graduated from H.S. Glen excelled in cross country and wrestling also played the tuba in the Starbuck marching band. After high school, he moved to Missoula to work for the USFS controlling blister rust and later rookied at Missoula. Glen jumped at Missoula 1967, 1973-76, and at West Yellowstone in 1968. He joined the Navy in 1969 and served on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he moved back to Missoula and bought a ranch near Butler Creek and decided to “get some horses.” He learned to shoe his own horses and started a 50-year career as a Farrier. Glen became an ultra-marathon runner and finished a 100 mile ultra in the Big Horn mountains of WY at the age of 70. He completed the Boston Marathon in 2014. Glen started playing the tuba again and played in the Missoula Community and City Bands for many years. He remained active and healthy until his diagnosis of acute leukemia in August of 2022.
