Tim died April 19, 2009, at his home in Rapid City, SD. He was a member of the Colville Confederated Tribe in Eastern Washington. Tim attended Washington Sate and Cal State Universities before enlisting in the Army. After leaving the Army, he spent 21 years with the L.A. Police Dept. rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Tim was the Executive Director of the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission 1979-89 and Commissioner of the Administration for Native Americans in the Dept. of Health and Human Services until 1993. He jumped at NCSB in 53-54 and 1957.
