Dean died of congestive heart failure January 7, l998 in Lewiston, ID. He had been a bush pilot throughout the Northwest and Alaska and flew for the Johnson Flying Service for many years. Dean also taught aviation technology at the Missoula Vocational Technical center for seven years.
