Description

Photograph of the F.M. Martin Grain & Milling Co., an early mill located on the north side of the Northern Pacific Railroad tracks in Cheney, Washington. Photograph shows Northern Pacific Railroad cars, horses and wagon, bags of grain, and numerous men standing on the platform. The mill was started by Clarence Daniel Martin and his father around 1906. At his father's death in 1925 Clarence Daniel Martin took over the running of the operation until it was sold to National Biscuit Company (Nabisco) in 1943. Clarence D. Martin was the 11th governor of the State of Washington.
